How deep do you grind?
We grind 6-12 inches below grade to allow new grass or planting. The chips make excellent mulch.
Will the roots keep growing after grinding?
No. Once the stump is ground below grade, the root system dies over 2-5 years and decomposes naturally. Some species may send up suckers — we can treat those.
Can I plant a new tree where the stump was?
Yes, but wait at least 1 year. We remove the chips, backfill with quality topsoil, and the area is ready for replanting.
